Service Charges - Systems and Data Specialist (Fixed Term)

We have a fantastic opportunity to join Sovereign Network Group (SNG) as a Service Charge Data Specialist, on a Fixed term basis for 12 Months.

You'll be based from our Wembley office 2 days a week, combing home working in line with our hybrid approach. 

The Role

As a Service Charge Data Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate setup and maintenance of systems supporting Service Charge management, primarily within NEC (housing management system), SUN (accounting system), and Integra P2P (purchase order system). You'll ensure coding structures and configurations support the accurate apportionment of costs for estates, blocks, and individual properties for service charge estimates and final accounts processes. 

You'll also work closely with stakeholders across the business, IT and NEC consultants to implement any corrections. You'll manage the general administration of the NEC service charge module, ensuring data is accurate and oversee all service charge apportionment, reconciliations and exception management. 

Key Responsibilities include:

• Acting as the administrator and gatekeeper of the service charge module in NEC and its interactions with other connected systems 
• Responsibility for all aspects of the service charge module, including housekeeping, user access, maintaining the service charge chart of accounts, reports and system setups
• Ensuring the integrity of the service charge module and configuration in NEC and SUN, maintaining strong financial controls, investigating and addressing any queries related to service charges
• Setting up new service charge codes and applying new services in NEC, with support from IT when necessary, and working across the finance team to ensure codes for SUN are added, amended, and mapped accurately
• Running testing in the NEC test system to ensure all elements required for apportionment and reconciliation run smoothly, making an updates or corrections as necessary
• Executing end-to-end service charge estimates and final account processes, ensuring accurate updates to customer accounts
• Generating regular reports to support service charge reconciliations

What We're Looking For

You should have previous experience in a similar role working with service charge data and system administration. You'll need to have strong knowledge of service charges and relevant legislation, ideally from within housing. Other requirements include: 

• Part Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) or equivalent qualification / qualified by experience
• Experience in system administration, business analysis, and integrated systems including accounting software
• Understanding of accounting principles, including double-entry bookkeeping
• Experience working with SUN finance system, NEC housing management system and Integra P2P, or similar finance and housing management systems
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel (Intermediate to Advanced), and Outlook
• Ability to work independently and proactively, managing large volumes of data effectively
• Proven ability to collaborate across teams, demonstrating relationship-building and influencing skills
